Slim Buster Fires Back at Critics Over Comparisons With Other Ghanaian Musicians

Ghanaian music veteran and dancer Slim Buster has reacted strongly to social media users who continue to compare his career and achievements with those of other musicians in the country.

The veteran entertainer made his feelings known during a TikTok live session, where he appeared frustrated by comments questioning his position in Ghana’s music industry.

In a video shared on X on September 8, 2026, Slim Buster maintained that he had already made a name for himself in the industry long before some of the musicians he is currently being compared with became prominent.

He specifically mentioned Shatta Wale, stressing that his career dates back much further.

Slim Buster also dismissed suggestions that his relevance should be measured by how much money he publicly displays. He questioned why people would use wealth as a basis for comparing musicians.

He further explained that his decision to stay away from performing at certain events should not be interpreted as an inability to secure bookings. According to him, the fees offered by some event organisers are simply not attractive enough.

The musician said he has another source of income that he considers financially rewarding, making it unnecessary for him to accept poorly paid performances.

He also cautioned people who criticise or insult him online, saying his decision not to respond should never be mistaken for fear.

Slim Buster maintained that he knows his worth and has no intention of engaging in unnecessary competition with younger musicians.

He concluded by insisting that he can make significantly more money through his other work than what some promoters are willing to offer him for performances.
