‘Shatta Wale and I saved Burna Boy from jail' - Captan claims
Former Militants member Captan has sparked reactions on social media after recounting an alleged incident involving Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy during the musician’s early visits to Ghana. Speaking in an interview, the dancehall artiste claimed Burna Boy was once arrested by the Ghana Police Service over alleged marijuana use.
According to Captan, the incident happened years ago when Burna Boy was still rising in the music industry. He alleged that the Nigerian singer was detained after reportedly being caught smoking cannabis during his stay in Ghana. Captan stated that he and dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale stepped in to assist the artiste following the arrest.
Captan explained that Shatta Wale played a major role in resolving the issue by directing members of the Militants group to secure Burna Boy’s release. He added that they allegedly handled arrangements to ensure the singer was comfortable after the incident, including providing accommodation and helping settle the matter quietly.
The musician further revealed that he and other members of the former Militants crew spent significant time with Burna Boy whenever he visited Ghana. He claimed they often accompanied the Grammy-winning artiste to entertainment spots and clubs across the country during that period of his career.
Captan also reflected on the relationship between Shatta Wale and Burna Boy, noting that he witnessed moments when the two musicians worked together in the studio. His comments suggested that Burna Boy maintained close ties with members of Shatta Wale’s camp before reaching global stardom.
Meanwhile, excerpts from the interview have gone viral on social media platform X, generating mixed reactions from users. While some people found the revelation surprising, others criticised Captan for revisiting old controversies involving Burna Boy, accusing him of making unnecessary statements to attract public attention.
