
Mayorkun reveals he has over ten (10) songs with King Promise
Nigerian music sensation Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known professionally as Mayorkun has revealed that he has recorded over ten songs with Ghanaian singer King Promise.
The "Mayor Of Lagos" made the announcement during an exclusive interview on WatsUp TV, as part of his media rounds ahead of his upcoming album release.
While discussing collaborations and his connection to the Ghanaian music scene, Mayorkun highlighted his creative synergy with King Promise, describing their studio sessions as natural and productive.
"We actually have more than ten songs together," he disclosed, hinting at a strong musical partnership that fans may not have fully seen yet. "Every time we link up, we make music - it's that easy."
The two have been praised for their chemistry on tracks, blending Nigerian Afrobeats with Ghanaian Highlife and Afro-fusion sounds .
Nigerian Afrobeats star Mayorkun further revealed that, he has four songs with rising Ghanaian star Gyakie.
The statement has sparked excitement among fans who are now eager to see if any of those unreleased tracks will make it to Mayorkun's forthcoming album, which is scheduled for release on June 13.
The twelve track project is expected to feature between five to six artistes, including two from Ghana.
Mayorkun and King Promise have previously collaborated on fan favorites like Sugarcane (Remix) and have performed together at several events across West Africa. Their chemistry, both on stage and in the studio, has been widely praised.
The singer also spoke about his recent single "Japa" which has been gaining traction across streaming platforms and social media.
''Japa' is a reflection of what's happening around us. It's fun, but it also tells a story about moving forward, leaving situations, and chasing something better," he explained.
With a solid track record and growing influence across Africa, Mayorkun's upcoming release is expected to make waves both in Nigeria and Ghana.
