Davido storms Osun campaign rally, dances with Gov Adeleke

Afrobeats superstar Davido on Thursday threw his weight behind his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as he joined the governor's massive roadshow and campaign rally ahead of the August 15 governorship election, further energising the ruling party's campaign in the state.

The campaign rally attracted thousands of supporters, with one of the biggest highlights being Davido's dramatic entrance alongside the governor's son, Sina Adeleke, popularly known as Shina Rambo. Viral videos from the event showed the duo navigating through the surging crowd before climbing over security barricades to reach the campaign stage, a moment that immediately captured widespread attention on social media.

Dressed in a flowing traditional jalabiya, Davido briefly struggled to scale the barricade before supporters on the stage rushed to assist him. Shina Rambo also received help before both successfully joined Governor Adeleke, drawing loud cheers and excitement from supporters gathered at the venue.

The atmosphere became even more electrifying when Governor Adeleke danced and sang along to Davido's hit song Feel, one of the standout tracks from the Grammy-nominated Timelessalbum. Moments later, the music star warmly embraced his uncle, and the pair thrilled the crowd with an energetic dance performance that further ignited the rally and reinforced their close family bond.

Davido's appearance comes just days after he publicly called for a peaceful, free and credible governorship election in Osun State. The award-winning singer urged residents to reject violence, intimidation and all forms of electoral interference while encouraging eligible voters to participate peacefully in the democratic process.

Governor Adeleke is seeking a second term in office under the Accord Party and will face the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, in the August 15 governorship election. With just days to the poll, political campaigns have intensified across Osun State as parties make a final push to win over voters in what is expected to be a keenly contested election.
