Oseikrom Sikanii hits back at Beeztrap KOTM, urges rapper to 'respect those above you'

Ghanaian rapper Oseikrom Sikanii has responded to recent lyrical shots allegedly directed at him by fellow artiste Beeztrap KOTM, escalating what is shaping up to be one of the latest rivalries in the country's hip-hop scene.

In a video circulating on social media, Oseikrom Sikanii claimed he played a significant role in Beeztrap's early career, insisting he was among the first musicians to recognise the rapper's potential and offer him opportunities when he was still relatively unknown. He advised Beeztrap to remain humble despite his growing success.

According to Oseikrom, his support went beyond their collaboration on the song Fly Girl. He alleged that he invested in Beeztrap's career by paying for apartments used during music video shoots and creating opportunities that helped the rapper gain industry exposure.

The rapper further claimed that Fly Girl became Beeztrap's breakthrough record but alleged that after the song gained popularity, its billing was changed from "Oseikrom Sikanii ft. Beeztrap" to "Beeztrap ft. Oseikrom Sikanii." Oseikrom said he chose not to challenge the change because he genuinely wanted his colleague to succeed.

"I put you on. I showed you love. I booked an apartment, and we shot a music video. When you first released the song, it was 'Oseikrom Sikanii ft. Beeztrap,' but after it became a hit, you changed it to 'Beeztrap ft. Oseikrom Sikanii.' I never cared because I wanted you to eat as well," Oseikrom stated in the video.

He concluded by cautioning Beeztrap against allowing his recent achievements to fuel arrogance, urging the award-winning rapper to honour those who contributed to his journey. "Calm down. You're still climbing the ladder of success. Pay homage to those above you and those showing you the way into the mainstream industry," he said. Beeztrap KOTM has not publicly responded to Oseikrom Sikanii's latest claims.
