Peter Okoye Accuses Rudeboy of Using Public Criticism to Shade Him

Peter Okoye of the defunct Afrobeats duo P-Square has accused his twin brother Paul, known as Rudeboy, of constantly using trending moments to drag his name down. The allegation came on Wednesday evening after Peter faced heavy backlash online over a controversial post about the importance of Nigerian languages.

The issue started when Peter shared his views on Nigerian languages and was immediately criticized by fans on social media. While the debate was ongoing, Rudeboy distanced himself from his brother’s comments in a series of posts on X. He wrote, “I’m a ‘nobody’. I repeat! A nobody! Without the culture, native, language.”

Reacting to that, Peter said Rudeboy was deliberately seizing the moment to tarnish his image. In his response, Peter recalled an open letter he wrote two years ago and insisted that efforts to make people hate him would not work. He admitted that people were dragging him over his statement and that he accepted the criticism, but he faulted his brother for twisting his words and using “petty tactics” to damage his reputation.

“I don’t know why you look for every opportunity to make derisive comments or jump on the bandwagon whenever I am being attacked,” Peter added, making it clear he was hurt by Rudeboy’s timing and tone.

The latest exchange has once again brought the long-running rift between the P-Square twins to the public, with fans divided over who is right in the situation.
