Avance Media Announces Inaugural Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair


OSTF Avance Media, in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES) Western North Directorate, have announced the inaugural Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair. This groundbreaking event, designed to inspire and cultivate the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, and innovators, will be held from July 22nd to July 26th at the STEM SHS in Awaso.

The Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair aims to ignite a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among students from primary, junior high, and senior high schools across the Western North Region. By providing a week-long series of interactive presentations, hands-on experiments, and career mentoring sessions, the fair seeks to bridge the educational resource gap and complement governmental efforts in STEM education. Schools participating in the fair include all Senior High Schools in the region and selected basic schools from all the districts within the region.

The theme of the fair, "Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today," underscores Avance Media's commitment to fostering a vibrant STEM community in the Western North Region. The fair will feature a variety of engaging activities designed to stimulate interest and curiosity in STEM fields, including Coding Workshops, 3D Printing Demonstrations, Scratch Programming, Micro Bits, Robotics, Virtual Reality, Openflexure, DNA Extraction, Drone Technology and Career Mentoring Sessions.

"The Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair represents a monumental step forward in empowering students in Western North with the skills, knowledge, and inspiration necessary to become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow, bridging the educational resource gap and fostering a culture of innovation in the Western North Region," said Ifeanyi Adjei, Avance Media’s Head of Corporate Services and Lead on the project.

Together, Avance Media and GES aim to create an inclusive and inspiring environment that encourages students to explore and pursue careers in STEM fields.

Key personalities expected to attend the fair include Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Sefwi-Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Mr Seth Boateng Western North Regional Director of Education, Hon Richard Obeng, Western North Regional Minister, Hon. Paul Andoh, Municipal Chief Executive of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal, General Managers of Asante Gold Corporation and CEOs of Solani Global and DK Korankye Company Limited.
