Tribe Culture Fest Activation Brings Thousands of Ghanaian Fans at Sankofa Square, Toronto
Sankofa Square came alive as Tribe Culture Fest delivered a historic cultural activation under the Ghana FunFest banner, drawing thousands of fans in a celebration of heritage, community, and Black Stars football.
A Royal Appearance
The day reached its first peak when Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II made a landmark appearance at Sankofa Square - a moment that left the crowd in awe.
Nana Boateng Gyimah, CEO of Tribe Culture Fest, called it a defining moment for Ghana’s cultural heritage.
“Having the Asantehene grace Sankofa Square is a testament to what we are building - a celebration of who we are as a people. This is bigger than a festival," he said.
Ghana Beats Panama - Sankofa Square Erupts
Later in the day, the #FWC26Tribe Watch Party took over. Thousands packed the square, eyes locked on massive screens as the Black Stars faced Panama. In the dying minutes, Caleb Yirenkyi scored a late goal to seal the win for Ghana - and Sankofa Square absolutely lost it.
Next Stop: USA
The Ghana FunFest now heads to the United States. Tribe Culture Fest brings the Ghana Takeover Day to Providence, Rhode Island carrying the same energy, pride, and culture straight to the heart of the diaspora and beyond.
