Producer of ‘Wogbejeke’ theatrical performance, Chief Moomen, has called on corporate bodies and individuals to lend his production financial aid. Speaking after their recent show at the National Theatre on Monday evening, the playwright said “we are terribly and seriously broke. We can’t afford to pay our cast and crew. So if you want to support Heritage Theatre Series, you contact us and lend us your support.” Chief also stated that his production company was getting ready to stage the classic Ghanaian movie ‘I told You So’ on 6th August, 2017. He added that now that ‘Wogbjeke’ has summarised the entire Ghanaian story, it is planning to put up separate shows that tell stories of individuals and specific instances in the Ghanaian story. He said they are also going to put together a book that tells Ghana’s story and subsequently produce a movie in the same wise. ‘Wogbejeke’ is a play that combines drama, music, dance and poetry to tell Ghana’s story. The story encompasses Ghana’s origin from the Mali Empire, the history of the various major tribes, colonialism, arts, and contemporary politics.
