T-Pain Sues Akon’s Konvict Entertainment Over Nearly $500,000 In Unpaid Royalties!

American rapper and singer T-Pain has filed a lawsuit against Konvict Entertainment, alleging that Akon’s label still owes him $489,047 in unpaid royalties.

According to the lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court on September 4, 2026, Konvict Entertainment allegedly received $1.304 million in royalties from distributor Zomba Recordings in March. T-Pain says his recording agreement entitles him to 75% of the label’s net royalties.

T-Pain claims he received $489,047 in June, but says another $489,047.76 remains unpaid. He alleges attempts to recover the outstanding amount through BuVision, an affiliate associated with Akon’s younger brother, were unsuccessful.

This marks the second lawsuit T-Pain has brought against Konvict Entertainment. His previous case, filed in 2018, was settled in 2025, with the company agreeing to pay him $114,000 without admitting liability.
