“Kuami Eugene Still Has It” — KiDi Fires Back At Critics Questioning Rockstar’s Relevance

Ghanaian music star KiDi has come out strongly in support of his former labelmate Kuami Eugene, dismissing claims that the award-winning singer has lost his shine after leaving Lynx Entertainment. According to KiDi, the issue has nothing to do with talent, but rather the rapid transformation of the music industry.

Speaking during an interview, the “Touch It” hitmaker stressed that Kuami Eugene remains one of the most gifted artistes Ghana has produced in recent years. He noted that no criticism, rumours, or public opinion can erase the Rockstar’s musical abilities and contribution to the industry.

KiDi explained that the current music landscape is very different from the era in which both artistes rose to fame under Lynx Entertainment. He pointed out that today’s industry requires musicians to constantly evolve and adapt to new trends, social media culture, and audience expectations in order to remain dominant.

The singer also emphasized that people are too quick to judge artistes based on commercial trends without considering how drastically the entertainment business has shifted over the years. According to him, Kuami Eugene’s talent remains untouched, but succeeding in today’s music market demands a completely different strategy compared to a few years ago.

Since exiting Lynx Entertainment, Kuami Eugene has faced intense public scrutiny, with some critics suggesting he may have fallen victim to the so-called “Lynx Curse” — a belief that former artistes of the label often struggle to maintain the same level of success they enjoyed while signed to the record company. The debate has continued to trend across social media platforms and entertainment discussions.

Despite the criticism, KiDi and Kuami Eugene remain two of the most successful artistes to emerge from Lynx Entertainment. Together, the duo dominated Ghana’s music scene with multiple hit songs, chart success, and award-winning projects, building a legacy as one of the strongest label partnerships in modern Ghanaian music history.
