Falz Reveals Why He May Not Raise His Future Children in Nigeria

Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz, has opened up about his uncertainty in raising his future children in Nigeria, citing deep concerns about the country's insecurity and sociopolitical climate.

During a recent episode of the Dear Ife Series podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, Falz was asked whether he would consider raising his kids in Nigeria —a question that visibly caught him off guard.

"Ah! That's a deep question. I didn't expect to hear this question," he responded. "I haven't really thought that far, let me not lie."

While expressing his strong ties to Nigeria, Falz admitted that the state of insecurity, threats related to his activism, and the general attitude of docility among Nigerians have made the idea of raising children in the country uncertain for him.

"It's something that I can't actually say 'yes' to because of what we are talking about-the insecurity in the country, threats due to my activism, and Nigerians' docility," he explained. "It's something ! cannot outrightly say 'yes' to. And it's so sad."

However, Falz, known for his outspoken views and deep-rooted patriotism, made it clear that he's not completely ruling out the idea either.

"I can't also outrightly say 'no' because I'm pro-Nigerian and I really believe that we can actually get it right," he added. "But I don't know, I don't know, but let's see."

Falz's statement has sparked fresh conversations online about the challenges of raising children in Nigeria amidst ongoing insecurity and political tension.
