Moliy Makes History as She Wins Dancehall Song of the Year at 2026 Caribbean Music Awards

Ghanaian singer Moliy has secured a major international milestone after winning Dancehall Song of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards.

The singer received the award for her hit song “Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix,” featuring Jamaican dancehall stars Shenseea and Skillibeng, with production from Silent Addy.

The ceremony took place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. This year’s edition marked the first time the Caribbean Music Awards were held in the Caribbean after previous ceremonies took place in Brooklyn, New York.

Moliy’s victory is particularly significant for Ghana, as reports indicate that she has become the first Ghanaian artist to win an award at the Caribbean Music Awards.

“Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix” entered the 2026 ceremony as one of the event’s most recognised songs, earning three nominations, including Dancehall Song of the Year, Dancehall Collaboration of the Year and Dancehall Video of the Year.

The song has enjoyed considerable international success since its release. The original version, released in 2024, gained momentum through social media and dance challenges before the remix with Shenseea and Skillibeng expanded its reach across Afrobeats and dancehall audiences.

The latest achievement adds to an impressive awards run for Moliy and the song. Earlier in 2026, “Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix” also won Best Reggae/Dancehall Song and International Collaboration of the Year at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Celebrating her latest achievement on social media, Moliy shared a photo of herself with the trophy and wrote: “DANCEHALL SONG OF THE YEAR BAGGED.”
