“I started Cinematopgraphy without my parents consent” - Andy Madjitey reveals
Ghanaian music director and Cinematographer Andy Madjitey has revealed that he started Cinematography without his parents consent and still made it in the industry.
Speaking during an interview on Fan mix live at WatsUp TV, the Cinematographer was asked by the host MC Tokyo that when he started Cinematography how did his parents take it, he then replied saying “It wasn’t much of a discussion, I had already made some moves and I found a mentor to take me through and I was in motion and I think one thing African parents respect is independence and I believe my mum and dad are proud right now because people tell them we have seen your son’s name on TV and I am sure they are really proud of me”
According to him he explain that so far all his music videos he has directed are his favorite, because he experienced something different from all the videos he directed.
He also recalled when he directed Baajo by Kwesi Arthur, explaining that they had to block the streets at Tema Community 11 and that time Kwesi Arthur's Grandma passed away so it was an emotional and also fun moment and everybody was involved both his family and friends.
Furthermore Andy Madjitey adviced that anything you want to do in this life just do it, if you have passion for something just give it a try and it can definitely work for you.
