Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has been nominated for the Rest of Africa Award at the 2026 South African Music Awards (SAMAs), marking another significant milestone in his rapidly growing international career.

The nomination recognizes his acclaimed album, IRON BOY, which has enjoyed widespread success across Africa and beyond. The project has received praise for its rich storytelling, distinctive sound, and cultural impact, reinforcing Black Sherif’s reputation as one of the continent’s most influential artists.

In the highly competitive category, Black Sherif will compete alongside fellow Ghanaian singer Gyakie, whose album After Midnight also received a nomination. The category further features Nigerian heavyweights Olamide (Olamidé), Wizkid & Asake (Real, Vol. 1), and Tiwa Savage (This One Is Personal).

The nomination underscores Black Sherif’s continued rise on the African music scene and reflects the growing global recognition of Ghanaian music. It also highlights Ghana’s strong presence among this year’s nominees at one of Africa’s most prestigious music award ceremonies.

The 2026 South African Music Awards are scheduled to take place later this year, where winners across various categories will be announced.
