Chris Brown Arrested in UK Over Alleged Bottle Attack at London Nightclub

R&B superstar Chris Brown has been arrested in the United Kingdom in connection with an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023. The incident, which reportedly took place at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, has resurfaced as authorities detained the singer in Manchester early Thursday morning.

The Arrest

Brown, 36, was taken into custody at a Manchester hotel shortly after 2:00 AM on May 15, according to the Metropolitan Police. He is being held on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following accusations made by music producer Abe Diaw. The Met confirmed that the investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.

Diaw alleges that Brown struck him over the head with a bottle before punching and kicking him while he lay on the floor. The producer claims his knee collapsed, requiring hospitalization and crutches upon discharge. Reports indicate that Brown was in the UK for his upcoming tour, with several shows scheduled in June and July.

The Sun newspaper reportedly tipped off the police after learning that Brown had flown into the UK via private jet. Officers then traveled to Manchester to make the arrest. Brown’s representatives have yet to comment on the situation.
