Olamide Recalls His Most Embarrassing Moment as a Young Artist

In a candid throwback interview, Nigerian music star Olamide shared one of the most humbling and unforgettable moments from his early days in the industry.

"I was in the studio when a well-known senior artist walked in to record," he recounted. "He mentioned he was hungry, and as the youngest person there, I was naturally the one sent to get food."

Olamide revealed that the money given to him wasn't enough to cover the meal, so he chipped in with his own cash - even paying for transportation out of pocket. But when he returned, things took an unexpected turn.

"When I got back with the food, he looked at me and said, 'Cabasa, tell this your boy to return my change.

If he needs money, he should ask — not try to trick me!'"

Shocked and hurt by the accusation, Olamide admitted he was tempted to react. "I almost flared up, but one glance from ID Cabasa calmed me down," he said.

Years later, the tables have turned. "Funny enough, that same person is now one of my biggest fans," Olamide added. "But l've never forgotten that day."
