According to the “Gringo” hitmaker, there will come a time in Ghana when the youth will be fed up, because in his estimation, politicians have disappointed the youth over the years.

Speaking on Citi FM’s Traffic Avenue, Shatta Wale expressed his dissatisfaction with governments’ view towards the youth claiming the youth is complaining.

He thus stated that he will avail himself as a candidate and contest for the presidency if the youth reach out to him to contest.

“I’ll go for it [president] because I believe Ghana is not for one person… it is for all of us and if people feel I have that strength to talk for them,  why not?”, he quizzed

“They (politicians) shouldn’t come and blame me in future when the eyes of the youth open and they feel like we are tired” , he added.

The self-acclaimed dancehall king further criticised politicians for neglecting issues that would give the youth of the country better opportunities.

He is of the view that the youth should be given the chance.

“Don’t let us watch the country like that and when we go to Dubai we want to take pictures…. When you come to Circle to campaign and they vote for you, do your job …if the leaders don’t pay attention to us, [the youth] and they feel the only thing they can do for us is to come on TV and speak big grammar, they’ll get pissed”, he said.

He therefor charged politicians to wake up, otherwise they would wake up one morning to hear people saying Shatta Wale should be president.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale disclosed that his greatest regret is getting too much education.

He believes he would have been more successful in life than he is now if the money invested in his education was invested into his music career.

He complained the subjects taught in school were too many as he was particularly interested in following his music career.

“The subjects were too many for me in class. I studied Arts, even from JSS (Junior high school) I was complaining my mind was not doing me right. I always told my dad. I told him there were times I will not do well… I was speaking the English well, I knew how to spell … I wanted to do music. I was in haste but they were like I should wait and finish my school. I wish I had a little education and the rest of the money was pumped into this business, like by now, I would have gone far but God is good, everything that happens is good”, he said.

Shatta wale is presently promoting his third studio album dubbed ‘Reign’ that will be launched in October 13 at the fantasy Dome in Accra.
