Deputy Captain of Asante Kotoko Eric Donkor has revealed that Steve Pollack who is head coach of the team whispered to him, his intention to carry out training in the next three days following an accident suffered on the Nkawkaw-Kumasi highway.

The team’s deputy equipment officer Eben Asare has been confirmed dead by the Eastern Regional Police Command and several others that were injured in the accident have been treated and discharged.

Photos from the Okomfo Anokye hospital where a number of players and technical men that needed extra attention were transfered to showed Pollack wearing a collar, propped up in bed.

It is unclear whether Pollack who is a very competitive man by nature meant his comment as a joke thrown in to lighten the situation or was being serious.

“I went close to his bed and he told me that we will soon be training in at least the next three days.”he told Accra based Asempa FM in an interview.

Kotoko were slated to play rivals Hearts of Oak over the weekend but that game is in jeopardy now due to the current series of events.
