'Being a New Artist put's Me in A Tight Corner When Charging to Perform At High–Powered Event

Budding artiste, Gregory Bortey Newman, known by his stage name King Promise has said being a new artiste in the music industry puts him in tight corner when it comes to charging to perform at high-powered events.

He said, as a promising act, it is obvious he can’t demand same amount for shows as what other A-list artistes like Shatta Wale and Sarkodie will ask for.

King Promise asserted that to get more recognition as other popular artistes, he prefers to perform free.

“I still perform for free at some events because I can’t charge event organisers like Shatta Wale and others as a new artiste.” He told Delay.

King Promise who is managed by Legacy Life Entertainment had about 3 songs on the charts at a point in 2017 – ‘Oh Yeah’, ‘Hey Sexy’ and ‘Selfish’.

In the same year he paid tribute to Sarkodie for his first opportunity. According to King Promise, he run into Sarkodie on the streets following which he got a reference from him to work with Killbeatz and Budding artiste, Gregory Bortey Newman, known by his stage name King Promise has said being a new artiste in the music industry puts him in tight corner when it comes to charging to perform at high-powered event.

He has collaborated with Joey B, BET Awards winner Stonebwoy, Mr Eazi and Fuse ODG.
