Rema Denies Alleged Feud With Davido: “I’ve Never Had Problems With Artistes”

Nigerian Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has addressed speculation surrounding an alleged feud between him and fellow Nigerian musician Davido.

Rema dismissed the reports during an interview with American radio personalities Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez, describing the claims of tension between the two artistes as rumours.

When asked about his relationship with other Afrobeats artistes and specifically his reported issues with Davido, Rema insisted that he has never had a problem with any artiste.

“That’s rumours. Omo, that is rumours ooo. Like, from day one, I’ve never had problems with artistes,” Rema said.

The “Calm Down” hitmaker added that he has great respect for established artistes in the Nigerian music industry, whom he referred to as the “OGs.”

Rema also stated that he does not seek conflict with other musicians and would rather focus on his craft.

“I don’t look for no one trouble. I just want to make good music, I don’t want to fight,” he said.

He further explained that fan comparisons often contribute to perceived rivalries between artistes. Rema said he previously tried to discourage his fans from comparing him with other musicians but eventually stopped after feeling that some artistes did not similarly caution their own supporters.

Rema’s latest comments come amid years of online speculation about his relationship with Davido. The singer has previously denied having a feud with Davido, saying fans were responsible for creating much of the perceived rivalry.
